About Me

Hello! I'm Sujit, a computational biologist with close to six years of experience in the field. My strong research background and analytical skills have enabled me to drive multiple projects at the intersection of biology and informatics.

I'm currently pursuing a PhD in Bioengineering at the Henry Samueli School of Engineering, UCLA, co-advised by Dr. Philip Scumpia and Dr. Dino Di Carlo. Previously, I completed my MS in Bioengineering at UCLA under the guidance of Dr. Patrick Allard, where I developed matrix factorization methods to explore transgenerational toxicity using embryonic stem cell lines. For my coursework, I specialized in biomedical data science—focusing on medical informatics, mathematical modeling, and deep learning—while taking classes from the Electrical Engineering and Mathematics departments to further broaden my skill set for tackling complex, data-driven challenges.

Before starting graduate school, I worked as a Bioinformatics Specialist at the La Jolla Institute for Immunology, leading various bioinformatics initiatives under the mentorship of Klaus Ley, MD. I analyzed a range of next-generation sequencing datasets to identify genetic markers in inflammatory diseases, focusing on standardizing and optimizing pipelines. These efforts contributed to over ten high-impact publications.

I am dedicated to leveraging my expertise to advance the life sciences. I welcome collaborations and opportunities to explore this exciting field further. Let's connect and discover new possibilities together!
